Display requirements

Approved health and safety poster

You must display an approved health and safety poster in a prominent place, or issue an approved leaflet to every staff member.

See regulation 4 of the Health and Safety Information for Employees Regulations 1989.

You can buy the poster from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) or download the leaflet for free.

Certificate of liability insurance

You must also display a copy of your certificate of liability insurance where your staff can easily read it.

'Display' can mean posting the certificate electronically on your school website or staff portal, instead of a physical document, as long as your staff know where to find it.
