Academies that don't offer statutory induction don't have to have an ECT policy.
We designed our ECT model policy so you can set it centrally, rather than have schools set their own policy on induction. This is to help you adopt a consistent, trust-wide approach.
Requirements for trusts offering induction
If your academy trust offers induction for ECTs, you must:
- Follow the statutory guidance on induction
- Have an ECT induction policy in place
If you don't offer induction, you don't need to have an ECT policy.
If you have ECTs working in more than 1 school
