Our thanks to our associate experts, Jeremy Bird and David New, and former teaching staff at The Key, for their help with this article.
If you’re a middle leader, be sure to check with your headteacher first before using the advice in this article - they might already have a template/system for you to use.
Make sure these reports won’t add unnecessary workload
Be mindful that Ofsted will:
- Look at whether the way in which you collect attainment and progress data is proportionate, efficient and sustainable for staff
- Take into account your staffs’ workload and wellbeing
- Discuss with staff whether assessment practices create unnecessary burdens
Ofsted won’t look at non-statutory internal progress and attainment data or your analysis and interpretation of data. Instead, inspectors will focus on your curriculum.
